Eurasian Water Milfoil is an invasive species. It is an aquatic plant that reproduces by fragmentation. If a small piece is broken off the plant it can grow a new plant, which is how EWM spreads so quickly. It takes oxygen out of the water when the plant decomposes, which can kill fish. It also competes with native plants. It can grow in thick mats which makes recreation activities very difficult. There has been one sighting of Eurasian Water Milfoil in the Belleisle area. Please keep motorboats away from the banks of any water body. If you are moving your boat to different water bodies, please Clean Drain Dry your boat for more info on Clean Drain Dry click the following link https://www.nbinvasives.ca/copy-of-clean-drain-dry.
